Manufacturers usually prefer multi-layer structures for the protection of instant foods sensitive to moisture, light, and similar external factors. In addition to the properties and quality of the films used in multi-layer barrier packaging, the raw materials and production parameters used in the lamination process in which these film layers are combined are important as well. In this way, the shelf life of instant food packaging increases and it is provided to the consumer maintaining the same freshness as the time of packaging.
In some special cases, instant food in the packaging needs to exchange gas. Intermat Flexible Packaging recommends specific film combinations for this type of food products.
